Personalise Your Wedding with Food and Drink
One of the most important aspects of a wedding reception is the meal. It’s a great opportunity for you and your guests to bond and enjoy each other’s company. There are few things in life more enjoyable than sharing a meal with the people that matter most to you, and there will be no shortage of those at your wedding reception. So, it’s only natural that you would want to ensure that the meal is as splendid and enjoyable as possible.
Of course, traditionally, the meal at your reception has a pre-ordained centerpiece – the cake. We’ve written in the past about choosing a wedding cake, and it usually involves a lot of careful consideration. Your wedding cake will usually be tailored and personalised especially for you, but why stop there? Why not have a few more items on the menu that are designed just for you and your big day? In this week’s blog post, we’d like to suggest some possible personalised food items for you to enjoy with your guests.
Cocktails can add a fun and exotic twist to any meal or occasion. Everyone is familiar with the classic recipes, but what about something new? Consider inventing your own cocktail especially for your wedding. Don’t worry if you’re not a skilled mixologist – perhaps one of your friends, or a member of staff at your reception venue can help you. Better yet, why not use this opportunity to become a mixologist! Try starting with classic recipe and experimenting with some variations until you find something interesting and original. After that, all you need to do is pick a great name for it. If you really want to go all out, you could even include personalised cocktail umbrellas!
Customised Canapés and Cupcakes
Whether it’s sweet or savoury, you can easily add a personal touch to the finger food at your reception. If you’ll be serving canapés, consider departing from the usual staples to include something a little more interesting – just as we suggested with cocktails. Also like cocktails, canapés can be further personalised with custom-made canapé flags. If serving cupcakes, these can easily be customised with icing designs. Speak to your caterer about this, and find out how they can help you.
Everyone loves chocolate, don’t they? Personalised chocolates will add a stylish touch to your reception, as well as going down a treat with your guests. Many chocolatiers will be glad to design and make personalised chocolates for your wedding. These are sure to a welcome after-dinner treat, especially for those guests who are not cake-lovers. Personalised chocolates are also a great choice for inclusion in your wedding favours. What else can you include in your wedding favours? Check next week’s blog post to find out!
