Expert advice for newly engaged couples this Christmas

I don’t know if it’s the mulled wine or the festive spirit that surrounds Christmas and New Years but this time of year is definitely the most popular time to pop the question. Facebook revealed that over one third of couples got engaged between November and December in 2015. Valentine’s Day always seemed like a big proposal day, but I was surprised to find out that it is only fourth on the list after Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. You learn something new everyday.

Firstly. Enjoy being engaged and don’t think about the finer details of organising your wedding so much at the beginning.

Secondly. Make the most of it – the early planning days are filled with cake testings, dress appointments and loads of fun stuff so make it last as long as you can.

Thirdly. Don’t threaten to elope every time you get stressed out – it will happen believe me.

Fourth. Stick together, get on the same page people, be strong and don’t let parents family or friends come between ye. Have a read of our blog on How to get your wedding plans started

Fifth. Do not let your wedding take over your life. And remember to lastly, enjoy this amazing time, it really is magical and will pass very quickly.
