Treat Your Guests to Breakfast After Your Wedding

A wedding is a celebration above all else. As with many other types of celebration, a wedding can often run quite late into the night, and there may be an abundance of merrymaking and jubilation involved. This is all part of the experience, of course, and there’s no reason to hold back on what should be the happiest night of your life. However, such conviviality can often leave us feeling somewhat the worse for wear the following day. You may find yourself wondering if there’s something that you can do to soften the blow of the morning after.

If there’s one thing we all appreciate after a long night, it’s a hearty breakfast. The morning after your wedding should be no different. Serving breakfast the day after your wedding is not only a great way to get everyone feeling tip-top again, it’s also a nice way to spend a little more time with your guests and extend the fun of the occasion for a little while longer. So, what’s the best way to go about arranging a wedding breakfast for your guests? In this week’s blog post, we’d like to offer some suggestions.

Think About Changing Up The Venue

You may find it’s easiest to hold your breakfast at the same venue as your reception. There may be many good reasons for doing this. For example, if many of your guests are staying at or near the reception venue, having your breakfast here could be most convenient. The venue may also offer breakfast as part of the entire package. However, there are some good reasons to consider moving your breakfast to another venue. A change of scenery adds a little variety and can help to make the breakfast more of an event. It’s also possible you may not like the breakfast menu on offer at your reception venue. If possible, see if you can sample some of the breakfast menu at your chosen venue, to see whether it’s to your liking.

Not Too Early, Please!

As we mentioned above, the celebration of your marriage is likely to run quite late into the night. For this reason, it’s best not to serve breakfast too early. Your wedding breakfast should be a relaxed and sociable affair for you and your guests to enjoy. This might be a little difficult if everyone is groggy and half-asleep. Remember, this could be another good reason to consider your choice of venue, as many venues will finish serving breakfast at ten or eleven o’clock. A slightly later breakfast will provide an opportunity for a relaxing lie-in, which will leave you and your guests feeling refreshed. You could even swap breakfast for brunch, so that you and your guests can enjoy dining in each other’s company into the early afternoon.

Don’t Forget the Coffee

What would breakfast be without an aromatic and delicious cup of coffee to accompany it? Your guests are sure to appreciate a treat of freshly ground, connossieur coffee. As with the breakfast menu, it’s a good idea to sample the coffee available at your chosen venue, to ensure that it’s up to scratch. If it doesn’t meet your standards, you could consider bringing in a separate coffee vendor. We’ve written in the past that mobile coffee bars are available to serve delicious coffee; these add a wonderful touch to any wedding, especially if you’re a coffee fan. Remember, it’s consider to make a selection of teas available as well, just in case any of your guests don’t drink coffee. If you’ve opted for the brunch option we mentioned above, you could even be a little cheekier and serve some classic brunch cocktails, like Mimosas or Bloody Marys!

Make Arrangements for the Children

As anyone with children knows, their tastes can often be very different from those of adults. It’s important to bear this in mind when considering what you’ll be serving for breakfast. Adults may be delighted with some of the fancier breakfast offerings, but children often prefer things to be simpler. Having some kids options on the menu will be greatly appreciated by adults and parents alike. If you really want to go all out, you could arrange for some entertainment for the children, so that parents can enjoy a more relaxing breakfast. Either way, it’s important to consider the children when making your plan.
